Franz-Jürgen Dörsam
Franz-Jürgen Dörsam was born in 1961 in Mannheim, Germany. He studied in Hannover with Professor Klaus Thunemann and in Mannheim with Professor Alfred Rinderspacher.He has worked with the Berlin Symphonic Orchestra, the Northwest German Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Wuppertal Symphony and Opera Orchestra. Since 1995 he has performed with the Metropolitan Orchestra of Lisbon as principal Bassoonist and as a soloist. He is also professor of Bassoon at the Academia Nacional Superior da Orquestra. He has recorded for CD and Radio as a soloist and with orchestra. He participated in concert tours of Madeira, Korea, India, Macau, Holland and Poland. He is working also as musician and composer in Germany in cooperation with the Berlin Symphonic Orchestra, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra Glasgow, Bornemouth Symphony Orchestra, the North-West German Philharmony and the Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester Mannheim.
