Nova Blue inspired in Bossa Nova.
Bossa Nova is a Brazilian popular music movement developed in the late 1950’s and early 60’s. Originally the term was used only when referring to an existing new way of samba singing and playing. Years later, Bossa Nova would become one of the most well-known Brazilian genres on a global scale, especially associated to João Gilberto (1931), Vinicius de Moraes (1913-1980) and António Carlos Jobim (1927-1994).
Some musical critics highlight the great influence that the American Post-World War II culture, especially of Jazz, combined with Claude Debussy (1862-1918) e Maurice Ravel’s (1875-1937) erudite impresio-nism, had on Bossa Nova.
