Emanuel Marcelino (1975- )
Emanuel Marcelino was born in Lisbon in 1975. He began his musical training in Instituto Gregoriano de Lisboa, studying there from 1988 to 1993. He continued his studies in Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, where he graduated in composition in 1996. In 1999 he obtained the maîtrise degree in music at the Université de Paris 8. He attended composition seminars by Emmanuel Nunes at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, from 1993 to 1998, as well by other composers abroad, such as Franco Donatoni or Gérard Grisey. After a brief teaching period, he dedicates himself exclusively to composition.
