4 Miniaturas
by Sérgio Azevedo (1968 - )
Ref. ava070090
These Quatro Miniaturas (Four Miniatures) – thought of as a possible “encore” – were written for the Camerata Senza Misura, to add to the repertoire of the Quinteto for oboe, clarinet, violin, viola and contrabass, which the group commissioned from Sérgio Azevedo in 2003 and premiered in 2004. Each of the movements possesses its own character: the first portrays a mechanical coldness, the second is permeated by a certain autumnal melancholy, in the third, an ironic waltz becomes asymmetrical and the final movement plays with the idea of “scherzo,” this time more anguished than happy.
