GILBERTO SALVAGNI is a conductor, composer, arranger and saxophonist. Born in Garibaldi-RS (Brazil), in 1972, he began his musical career through authorial progressive rock as a guitarist; in wind orchestras, as an arranger and conductor. In 2015, he completed his graduation at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, becoming a Bachelor in Composition.
Currently, he is the conductor of the Bento Gonçalves Chamber Orchestra (RS) and Salvagni Big Band; creates arrangements and compositions for orchestral and jazz formations on request; and teaches musical perception, group practice, arrangement and harmony courses in schools, seminars and universities. In addition, he has compositions that were performed in Japan, Poland and the United States. His most recent orchestral piece, "Concerto para Trompete e Orquestra", had premiered in 2019 by OSPA (Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra) under the conduction of Stefan Geiger (Germany), having as soloist "Tiago Link" (Brazil). As an arranger for orchestras, he has had works performed in the United States and Spain, in addition to those performed in Brazil with artists such as Daniel, Luiza Pozzi, Nei Lisboa and Familia Lima. As musical director the Pink Floyd Symphonic and Music of Games concerts stand out, for which he also acted as an arranger, both performed by OSPA in 2019.
