Francisco Bahia (1861-1931), pianist and pedagogue, studied at the Conservatório Nacional de Lisboa with Mata Júnior then became a teacher from 1895 and director of the institution until his retirement. He composed some pieces for piano, edited by Neuparth & Carneiro, some inspired by fado, such as Mais um fado, Fadinho lirio and A Briza. At the same time, he designed didactic editions on the work of Johann Sebastian Bach (Inventions, Preludes and Fugues) as well as an edition of selected pieces for the 3rd year piano classes of the National Conservatory of Lisbon.
