Gerson Batista (1988) is a young composer, illustrator, multi-instrumentalist, poet and writer from Aveiro.
He studied Civil Engineering at the University of Aveiro and early in his academic career (2006) he joined the University of Aveiro Tuna when he played the rolle of assayer and artistic director for the next three years. In the "tuna" he began to compose and to debut their first songs and pieces, and gradually gaining a greater appreciation for music.
Meanwhile he went to the Conservatory of Aveiro Calouste Gulbenkian , where he studied organ with Antonio Mario Costa and belonged to Juracyara Baptist singing class. He studied composition with Pedro Bento and Virgílio Melo (present master professor).
In 2012 he released a solo album, the "Silent Dreams." Already in 2014 premiered in Aveiro thefirst theater piece of his own ("A'Corda e o Espaço Incontactável"), and later that year he saw his first book ("Erróticos") being published.
Throughout his artistic career he had the opportunity to play / act on much of the country's major concert halls, both individually and collectively.
He currently resides in Aveiro, where he is developing several projects within the classical music, jazz, light music, theater, poetry and while giving music lessons.
