LUCA VAGO was born 1971 and lives near Milan (Italy).
After graduating in Law, Piano and Composition in the Conservatory G. Verdi with Alessandro Solbiati, he took part to masterclasses and courses with internationally acclaimed composers such as Claudio Ambrosini, Luis De Pablo, Ivan Fedele, Luca Francesconi, Helmut Lachenmann, Giacomo Manzoni, Marco Stroppa, Ivan Fedele, Frédéric Durieux, Stefano Gervasoni.
He has been finalist and received numerous prizes in international composition competitions.
Among the most important: the first prize of the composition award of the Le settimane Musicali di Stresa (Italy - 2007), section orchestration, with his “Sei Lieder per voce e orchestra” (from Franz Schubert), the first prize at the Franz Liszt composition competition in Weimar with Aušrine for piano and orchestra (2011) the First Prize at the III Uuno Klami International Composition Competition in Kotka (Finland - 2014) with his composition “Suite de los Espejos” eight poems by Federico Garcia Lorca for soprano and orchestra, the first prize of the composition competition “Firenze per le Culture di Pace” with the work “”Promise me” for female voice and seven instruments (2014), the first prize in the So.Ro.Dha composition competition in Antwerpen (Belgium) with Dredd for string quartet (2016) and in the Regensburger Kompositionwettbewerb, with Die Stadt for six voices (2018).
His works has been performed in important festivals like Festival International d’Art Lyrique d’Aix En Provence, Settimane Musicali di Stresa, Europäische Akademie für musik di Montepulciano – Palazzo Ricci, Playit!, Milano Musica, Festival Risuonanze and has had between their performers famous artists like Gianandrea Noseda, Barbara Frittoli, Irvine Arditti, Alfonso Alberti, Piia Komsi, Ex Novo Ensemble, Asasello Quartet, Quatuor Tana, Mdi Ensemble.
His composition has been published by Rai Trade Musical Edition, Stradivarius, Impronta Mannheim and Sconfinarte.
He works as a lawyer in the Tribunal of Lecco (Italy).
