. He started his musical education at the age of 12 in classical guitar, having lessons with the professor Rodrigo Barros. During this period, he also took several exams with the Royal School of Music (ABRSM).
. He moved to Lisbon in 2004 to attend the jazz course in the Luiz Villas Boas jazz school (Hot Clube de Portugal), while pursuing simultaneously his degree in electrical engineering at the IST - Instituto Superior Técnico.
. He studied composition with Vasco Mendonça and Carlos Marecos in 2007/2008, starting afterwards its composition course at the ESML - Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, in 2008.
. He had as main tutors the composers Luís Tinoco, Carlos Caires and António Pinho Vargas.
. He has participated in several seminars and masterclasses, among which some given by Ertugrul Sevsay, Marc-André Dalbavie, João Pedro Oliveira, António Pinho Vargas, Paulinho Braga, Richard Dünser and Lee Konitz. . He also took a gamelan course at the Oriente Foundation, given by Elizabeth Davies and Tri Suhatmini . Since then, he has actively participated in the gamelan orchestra 'yogistragong'.
. During the summer of 2009 he participated in the ‘19th internationale sommerakademie09’ in Austria, where he worked with the composer Nigel Osborne, the maestro Michael Wendeberg and the widely recognized contemporary musical group ‘klangforum wien’.
. In February 2010, he took part of the ‘16th young composers meeting’ in Apeldoorn (Netherlands), where he presented his piece 'stella times stella' to the 'de ereprijs' orchestra. This meeting was directed by the composers Louis Andriessen, Richard Ayres, Martijn Padding, Jan van de Putte, Micheal Smetanin and Helena Tulve.
. In May 2010, he was present at the 'Música Nova 2010' composition workshop, organized by the chamber orchestra of Cascais and Oeiras, where he exhibited the piece 'seven places from my asking'. The copyright of this piece was acquired by the OCCO for the following season.
. In February 2011, he wrote the music for the exposition 'A kills B - imagery action, Ifigenia and Isaac' presented in the Center for Modern Art of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
. He is currently working towards his master degree in music (with a specialization in composition) at the ESML, under the supervision of the composer António Pinho Vargas.
. He is also the professor in the subject of Music (edition software) at the Superior School of Dance (ESD), while teaching music and running the composition workshop at the Conservatório de Música Jaime Chavinha (CAORG).
