Pedro Miguel Serrano Ralo was born in Lisbon and he has started his musical studies with his father at Banda Municipal Mouranense, where he had chosen the clarinet for his musical performative instrument.
He has been admited at the music school of Conservatório Nacional de Lisboa, at the class of the teacher Rui Martins, as clarinet student.
Years later, he has joined the portuguese army, and he joined also to the symphonic band of this military force and also at the Banda Miliar de Évora.
As a clarinet student, he has participated at various masterclasses with Rui Martins, Luís Gomes, Nuno Silva, Joaquim Ribeiro, Emídio Costa, Hernâni Moura, Alberto Lajes, Carlos Marques, Vítor Ferreira, Luís Ferrer, Hakan Rosengreen, Guy Deplus, Dominique Vidal, Mathias Muller, Hedwing Swimberghe, Javier Trigos, Radovan Cavallin, Justo Sanz, Isaac Rodríguez, Robert Spring, Eric P. Mandat, Camilo Irizo e Nicholas Cox.
Pedro’s interest at the conducting area has triggered at a very young age, and he have been directing his studies and knlowledgement throug this area.
He has participated at several marteclasses of wind orchestra conduction and also another musical groups, with names as José Manuel Ferreira de Brito, Roberto Perez, Luís Clemente, Kodo Yamaguishi, Mitchell J. Fennel, Yan Mikirtumov, Rui Pinheiro, António Menino, Alberto Roque, Shannon Kitelinger, Jean-Sebastien Bereau, Felix Hauswirth, Douglas Bostock, José Rafael Pascual Vilaplana e Mark Heron.
He was invited to be the coordinator of clarinet’s group and as conductor for the 1º Estágio para Instrumentos de Sopro e Percussão of Banda da Casa de Povo de Penacova and 1º Estágio de Sopros e Percussão dos Bombeiros Voluntários de Condeixa-a-Nova.
He was also invited by the school of arts of the University of Évora, to conduct the clarinet ensemble where he conduct the solists Luís Gomes and Ana Maria Santos.
At the 1º Estágio de Clarinetes do Conservatório Regional do Algarve Maria Campina, he was invited as conductor and has conduct the clartinet’s ensemble where he conducted the solists Nicholas Cox, Rui Travasso e Pedro Nuno.
As clarinetist, he was teacher at the “1º Masterclass de Clarinete”, na inciative of the Escola de Música da Filarmónica Pampilhosense.
At this moment, Pedro is finishing the Master degree of Wind orchestra conduction, at University os Aveiro, at the class of the professor André Granjo. He is teacher at the acadeny of music of Banda da Covilhã and at the music school of Grupo Musical Fraternidade Pampilhosense, where he is also the conductor since November of 2008.
He is an associated member of WASBE (World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles).
