Maria do Céu Camposinhos was born in Mozambique in 1970 and began hers musical studies at age five in her hometown, where she lived during childhood.
Maria do Céu was a disciple of Helena Costa since she was thirteen, studying at the Calouste Gulbenkian Music Conservatory in Braga, where she concluded the Piano course under Professor Luis Filipe Sá Piano class in 1987.
Subsequently she completed the 8th grade at Porto Music Conservatory in the class of Professor Fausto Neves in 1988 achieving the highest rating.
In 1992 she completed her musical studies at School of Music and Performing Arts (ESMAE) of Polytechnic of Porto at Portugal, under and in the class of Professor Fausto Neves.
During her academic training she was tutored for analysis and compositional techniques, under Professor Cândido Lima, Professor Fernando Lapa and Professor Miguel Ribeiro Pereira.
She continued her studies in Germany, at Freiburg Music Academy im Breisgau, where she completed her postgraduate studies in Piano in the class of Professor Karl Betz and Professor Kalle Randalu. During this period she improved her skills under the Pedagogue and Professor Vitaly Margulis.
She was a regular in piano master classes under famous musicians and pianists such as, Sequeira Costa, Helena Costa, Vitaly Margulis, Ryszard Wóycicki, Emile Naoumoff, Yuri Ananiev Dmitry Paperno, in Portugal, Spain, Germany and in Austria.
Maria do Céu has been a presence in several festivals of music as a soloist and as in chamber music context player, either in Portugal, the United States, or Germany and Spain. In this particular the Dresden Music Festival ,International Piano Week of North Dakota, has to be evidenced.
She was soloist with the National Orchestra of Porto, North Orchestra and Orchestra Artave, under the direction of maestri such as Conductor Julius Michalski, Maestro Cesario Costa, Gunther Argeble, Dominique Rouitz, António Soares, Vítor Matos and Luis Machado, among others.
In her professional career she taught at the José Atalaya Music Academy and at the Musical Culture Centre. She is a professor since 2009 at the Bomfim Foundation Company's Music of Braga.
She has been tutoring piano improvement courses in Portugal, Brazil, and Spain and in the United States.
She has also oriented several seminars and she was member of the jury in many piano competitions in Spain and Portugal.
She plays and records for the Portuguese national radio (RDP).
She recorded and edited a CD album with some of the famous works of Schumann R., Scribain, E. Lecuona and Álvaro Cassuto.
She’s devoted to composition, with several of her own works for piano solo, as well as works for piano and voice.
She has also been honoured with the cultural merit medal by the city of Vila Nova de Famalicão, Portugal.
