Miguel Pereira de Carvalho was born in Lisbon in September 6th, 1997. He began studying music when he was nine years old in Sociedade Filarmónica União e Capricho Olivalense, where he learned how to read music and later joined the band as a percussionist. At the age of eleven, he started taking piano lessons in school and one year later joined the Escola de Música do Conservatório Nacional (National Conservatory), where he completed the 8th grade of piano. He’s also part of the choir Musaico (from the National Conservatory), who participated and won several competitions and also recorded the award-winning work “Magnificat em Talha Dourada” from Eurico Carrapatoso. Musaico also premiered Miguel’s first choir work (“All That Is Gold Does Not Glitter”). In 2016 he began studying in Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, where he had João Madureira and Luís Tinoco as teachers.
